The RSVP House
Privacy Notice
Last updated 3 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information The RSVP House handles, why, and the choices you have. It describes how the service actually works today.
Who we are
The RSVP House is an online service for creating digital invitations and collecting RSVPs. If you have a question about your information, email us at damaris.wairegi@gmail.com.
Information about customers (hosts)
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored securely by our sign-in provider; we can't see it).
- Invitation content you add: titles, names, messages, event dates, venues, map links and photos.
- Purchase details: what you bought, the amount, currency, status and payment reference. For M-Pesa payments we keep only a masked phone number. We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN.
Information about guests
- Guest lists that hosts add: names, and optionally phone numbers and email addresses, plus seat allowances.
- RSVP replies: name, optional phone number, attendance, party size and any message.
Hosts decide who to invite and what guest information to add, and are responsible for having a good reason to share it with us. We use guest information only to run the host's invitation.
Technical information
To protect the service from abuse we briefly keep a scrambled (hashed) form of network addresses for rate limiting. We keep basic server logs to fix errors. We don't sell personal information and we don't use advertising trackers.
How we use information
- To provide accounts, build and publish invitations, and collect and show RSVPs to the host.
- To take payment for Premium designs and keep financial records.
- To send account emails such as sign-up confirmation and password reset.
- To keep the service secure and to answer support requests.
Who can see it
- Anyone with an invitation link can see what the host published on it. Guest lists and replies are visible only to the host.
- Personal invitation links are private to each guest. Anyone holding a link can use it, so share them carefully.
- Our team can see account, invitation and payment summaries to run the service. They can't see guest lists or replies through our admin tools.
- Service providers who help us run the platform: hosting and database, sign-in and email delivery, and our payment provider (IntaSend) for M-Pesa payments.
How long we keep it
- Invitations, guests and replies stay in your account until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Deactivating, pausing or reaching the end date of an invitation hides it from guests but doesn't delete guest information.
- When we delete an account we remove its invitations, photos, guest lists and replies.
- We keep order and payment records for as long as we need them for financial, tax and legal purposes, with personal details removed where we can.
We plan to delete guest information automatically some time after an invitation ends. Until then it is deleted as described above.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your invitations and guest lists in your dashboard. To get a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account, email us at damaris.wairegi@gmail.com. Guests who want their details removed can ask the host, or contact us. You may also have rights under data protection laws that apply to you, including in Kenya, such as complaining to the data protection regulator.
Changes
We'll update this page if how we handle information changes, and change the date above.
